Hamilton Island Accommodation

AUSTRALIA'S HAMILTON ISLAND - MODERN AMENITIES AND NATURAL WONDERS

You shouldn't have to choose between enjoying scenic wonders and enjoying a modicum of comfort. On Hamilton Island you get the best of both worlds.

Comfortable, Contemporary Lodgings……

Accommodations range from the simple, family-friendly Whitsunday Apartments to Qualia, a luxurious adults-only resort at the northern tip of the island. If you’d rather be in furnished cottage with a kitchen try Holiday Homes, whose accommodations include Standard, Superior, Luxury and Premier houses. Palm Beach Cottages, the original Hamilton Island resort, has been completely updated.

Another luxury choice is the Yacht Club. Their multi-level four-bedroom villas overlook stunning views of Dent Passage and Dent Island, just west of Hamilton.

With the exception of the Qualia resort, lodgings and restaurants feature significant discounts for children under 14.

……and Natural Wonders to Explore

Almost everyone who comes to Hamilton will spend time at Catseye Beach, where you can swim, snorkel or go out in a kayak. Families will want to take in WILDlife, a nature park where kids can cuddle koalas. There are nature trails in the southern part of the island to suit everyone, from just-walking to practiced hiker.

Across the Dent Passage is Dent Island, home of the Hamilton Island Golf Course. It is the only championship golf course on an Australian island. The course has been skillfully integrated with the island’s natural ecosystem. Needless to say, the views are breathtaking.

As the largest inhabited island in the Whitsundays, Hamilton Island is the perfect base for exploring the rest of the area. Try the Snorkel Safari given by H2O Sportz for a three-hour underwater tour of the Reef and its amazing marine inhabitants. (H20 also has basic snorkel lessons.) Hamilton Island Air has a variety of helicopter and sea plane tours for great aerial views. For a final treat, be sure to take a Denison Star Dinner Cruise and watch the sun set over the Great Barrier Reef.
